Avery the Cat needs a home
Looking for a lap cat? Look no further! This little lady loves to spend time on her humans. Avery will take all the grooming and petting someone is willing to share. She is likely to purr up a storm, knead on you, and fall asleep happy.
Avery’s delightful personality is emerging as she settles into life indoors. She is not only affectionate, but playful. Avery enjoys stalking, swatting, pouncing, chasing, and catching interactive toys (check out her video!). She will settle for a snuggly bed if a lap is not available. Avery is a fastidious groomer and loves a good stretch-and-flex on a vertical scratching post. She will also sprawl out on the floor when relaxed or retreat to a low hidey-hole if she needs to feel safe. Avery approaches new surroundings with curiosity but also a bit of caution.
Undoubtedly abandoned and possibly abused, Avery was surviving on the streets near an Oakland convenience store with the help of some caring humans.
We believe Avery should be a solo kitty and will do best in a quiet home where her sweet nature can continue to blossom. Avery may express some hesitation with men more than women, but a calm, affectionate, and consistent approach will win her trust.
